Charity

Charity has always been an important part of Freemasonry. From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. This work continues today.

In addition, large sums are given to national and local charities.

Shakespeare Lodge charitable donations are made exclusively on a discretionary basis by the Lodge and its members. The Lodge carefully monitors all of the charitable awards made to make sure that the highest proportion possible of all donations is given directly to the beneficiaries.

There are a variety of ways of making donations.

  • By regular direct debit
  • One-off annual contributions
  • Project-specific donation
  • Tax-free giving
  • Or remembering our charitable quest in your will

Our Membership

New Members have regularly been  joining Shakespeare Lodge No.284 over the last few years.

But we know we cannot afford to rest on our laurels.

We recognise the need to attract Joining Members from other Lodges and even more importantly for the futurecritically Initiates who are new to Masonry.
